Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Teen Counselor to lead youth program activities at the Robert D. Fowler Family YMCA.

You will supervise teens, deliver YMCA-approved lessons, and ensure participant safety while building positive relationships with families. Requirements include 18+, a high school diploma, 2–4 years of experience with youth, current CPR/First Aid/BLS certification or complete within 30 days, safety training, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma required.
• 2–4 years of experience working with school-age youth or teens in a group setting.
• Current CPR/First Aid/BLS certification or complete within 30 days of hire.
• Youth and Teen Safety Training completed prior to first day of scheduled work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily program tasks related to the position's scope and responsibilities.
• Provide leadership and supervision to participants with guidance from the Youth Development Director.
• Instruct lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, with prepared lesson plans.
• Promote, monitor and evaluate programs to ensure high levels of service to participants.
• Maintain incident/accident paperwork and ensure safety compliance.
