Job summary

The Boys Club of New York BCNY seeks a Teen Drop-in Tutor to provide tutoring to boys aged 13–21, focusing on Math, English, Science and History. You will plan lessons and source materials with guidance from the Education Director.

This part‑time role requires a reliable, motivated candidate with experience working with teens, offering Regents prep and core subject support in a supportive clubhouse setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree with a focus in Education or a relevant field.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Tutor or classroom teacher.
• Experience working with students aged 6–18 years.
• Knowledge of NYC school standards preferred.
• Knowledge of core subjects Math, English, Science and History.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet student needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and implement appropriate programs and lesson plans to enhance skill development of participants.
• Work regularly with the Education Director and other staff to assess needs and adapt lessons.
• Observe and track member progress and attendance.
• Reinforce positive student behavior and clubhouse rules; maintain relationships with members and families.
• Write, implement and adapt curriculum and training methods that meet participants' interests.
• Attend required department meetings and professional development trainings.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Education Director the Teen Tutor will provide individual andor small group tutoring to boys 13 21 years old Tutors will be strongly supported by the Education Director and are responsible for planning their own lessons and finding materials Heshe will work with core subjects including Math English Science and History as well as Regents and other test preparation We are seeking a reliable highly motivated candidate with a strong record of working with teens and young people

• Work regularly with the Education Director and other relevant staff to assess the needs of individual students and adapt lessons to meet those needs
• Observe and track member progress and attendance
• Reinforce positive student behavior and clubhouse rules; maintain a positive relationship with all members families and staff
• Write implement and adapt a curriculum and training methods that meets participants interests
• Other duties as assigned
• Attend required department meetings and professional development trainings
