Job summary

Merage JCC of Orange County in Irvine, CA seeks a Teen Community Collaborator to engage Jewish teens year-round through Merage JCC, BBYO, and community partnerships. The role builds programs grounded in Jewish values and fosters a connected, safe, empowered teen culture.

You will manage BBYO in OC, develop leadership opportunities, and lead calendar-driven activities with 300–500 teens, including Global Shabbat and JTeens Day of Service.

Qualifications

• Build strong relationships with teens, families, advisors, alumni and community partners to deepen engagement opportunities, and Jewish community.
• Develop and execute effective communications and recruitment strategies--including digital and social media, direct outreach, and peer-to-peer engagement--to drive measurable growth in teen participation.
• Coordinate with congregational and Jewish agency partners and BBYO to execute annual community-wide programs (Global Shabbat, JTeens Day of Service, and the yearly Chai Tide program)
• Develop teen leadership teams to coordinate the events
• Oversee the planning, recruitment, and execution of all events
• Engage 300-500 teens in J and collaborative programs
• Coordinate with Jewish agency partners on recruitment and planning

Responsibilities

• Engage Jewish teens year-round through Merage JCC, BBYO, and community partnerships.
• Create opportunities grounded in Jewish values to help teens feel connected, safe, heard, and empowered.
• Manage Orange County BBYO and build teen communities with a robust calendar of programs and leadership opportunities.
• Develop and lead relationships with teens and parents; plan outreach and recruitment.
• Coordinate with BBYO and partners to execute annual programs such as Global Shabbat and JTeens Day of Service.
• Lead teen leadership teams and oversee event planning and execution for 300–500 teens.
• Travel with teens, communicate with families, ensure teen safety.
