One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning of Somerset, NJ is seeking a skilled HVAC technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience with HVAC systems, knowledge of schematics, and the ability to interpret design plans.

A valid driver’s license is required; NATE certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in installation and/or service technician roles involving HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics interpretation, and mechanical systems troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with commercial refrigeration units.

Responsibilities

• Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment according to manufacturer specifications and schematics.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on existing HVAC systems, ensuring optimal operation and energy efficiency.
• Read and interpret technical schematics, HVAC design plans, and electrical diagrams to accurately execute installations.
• Troubleshoot system issues using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment.
• Conduct equipment repair and replacement tasks involving welding, mechanical repairs, or component upgrades.
• Assist with plumbing connections related to HVAC systems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Perform service technician duties including system testing, calibration, and ensuring proper airflow and refrigerant levels.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Operate field service vehicles safely while transporting tools and equipment to various job sites.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 3 years experience in installation and/or service technician roles involving HVAC systems
• Knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics interpretation, and mechanical systems troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience with commercial refrigeration units
• Familiarity with plumbing connections associated with HVAC installations
• Experience working with air conditioning systems
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools including ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices
• Prior field service experience in HVAC installation or maintenance is highly desirable
• Valid driver’s license required for travel between job sites and clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• NATE certification preferred
• Must display strong communication skills and technical competence
• Ability to pass a thorough background check and drug screen
