Job summary

Onehourpittsburghpa is seeking an HVAC Installer to join our team for installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The role requires strong mechanical knowledge, schematics interpretation, and experience with HVAC/R systems.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in HVAC installation or service, knowledge of design principles, and the ability to use diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in HVAC installation or service
• Knowledge of HVAC design principles and schematics
• Hands-on with commercial refrigeration units
• Familiar with plumbing connections for HVAC
• Experience with air conditioning systems
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools (ohmmeters etc.)
• Field service experience in HVAC installation/maintenance preferred
• Valid driver’s license and clean record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• NATE certification preferred
• Strong communication and technical skills
• Able to pass background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

• Install HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment per specs
• Maintain and repair existing HVAC systems for energy efficiency
• Read and interpret schematics and electrical diagrams
• Troubleshoot system issues with diagnostic tools
• Perform equipment repair and replacements (welding, mechanical work)
• Assist with plumbing connections for HVAC installations
• Test systems, calibrate, ensure proper airflow and refrigerant levels
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and safety protocols
• Operate field service vehicles to job sites

DUTIES

• Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment according to manufacturer specifications and schematics
• Perform maintenance and repairs on existing HVAC systems, ensuring optimal operation and energy efficiency
• Read and interpret technical schematics, HVAC design plans, and electrical diagrams to accurately execute installations
• Troubleshoot system issues using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment
• Conduct equipment repair and replacement tasks involving welding, mechanical repairs, or component upgrades
• Assist with plumbing connections related to HVAC systems and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Perform service technician duties including system testing, calibration, and ensuring proper airflow and refrigerant levels
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to safety protocols at all times
• Operate field service vehicles safely while transporting tools and equipment to various job sites

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 3 years experience in installation and/or service technician roles involving HVAC systems
• Knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics interpretation, and mechanical systems troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience with commercial refrigeration units
• Familiarity with plumbing connections associated with HVAC installations
• Experience working with air conditioning systems
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools including ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices
• Prior field service experience in HVAC installation or maintenance is highly desirable
• Valid driver’s license required for travel between job sites and clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• NATE certification preferred
• Must display strong communication skills and technical competence
• Ability to pass a thorough background check and drug screen
