ServiceMaster Professional Building Maintenance is seeking a dependable Floor Maintenance Technician to join our team in Joppa, MD. This role involves cleaning and maintaining hard floors and carpets, operating floor care equipment, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Candidates should have experience in floor care or janitorial services, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and hold a valid driver's license. The position emphasizes safety and independent work under supervision.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor care, janitorial services, or building maintenance is required.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory.
• Familiarity with floor care equipment including buffers, burnishers, and auto-scrubbers.
• Knowledge of floor stripping and refinishing techniques.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage time and meet customer deadlines.
• Perform routine and deep cleaning of hard surface floors, including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
• Operate floor care equipment such as buffers, burnishers, auto-scrubbers, and extractors.
• Strip, wax, and refinish hard floors to maintain a polished, professional appearance.
• Clean and maintain carpeted areas through vacuuming and carpet extraction techniques.
• Identify and report floor damage, safety hazards, or maintenance needs to supervisors.
• Follow proper product handling and safety procedures in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Maintain and clean all floor care equipment after use.
• Responsible for general work vehicle maintenance, including fueling and restocking.
