Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Business Consultant to join the Technology Strategic Spend Team. The role focuses on IT capital expenditures analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, using Power BI, SQL, and Excel to inform leadership decisions.

The candidate will develop financial business cases, report on technology usage and demand, and coordinate with Finance and Procurement to drive productivity initiatives. Hybrid work model and strong governance are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication to present information to senior management.
• Solid knowledge of data analytics tools (Power BI, SQL, Excel) for financial planning.

Responsibilities

• Drive analysis and presentation materials for IT Capital Expenditures in the Technology Portfolio.
• Create leadership-level analyses on technology usage, financial impacts, and vendor considerations.
• Build business cases for technology decisions and conduct data-driven planning with senior leadership.
• Leverage data analytics tools to support strategic discussions and planning with executives.
• Collaborate with finance and procurement to report on productivity and automation efforts.
• Lead special projects and ad hoc analyses for the Technology function.
