Tyler Technologies seeks a Director of Technology to lead software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, and digital government solutions from our Columbia, South Carolina office.

The role partners with the General Manager and Operations to deliver secure, scalable technology services for government partners and constituents, driving cloud transformation and modernization while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of technology leadership across software, infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity.
• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (.NET/C#) and cloud platforms.
• Experience with SaaS, on‑prem, and hybrid environments.
• Experience guiding cloud transformations and vendor management.
• Excellent communication and strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technology infrastructure, applications, data platforms, and networks.
• Provide strategic leadership for cloud-hosted, hybrid, and on‑prem environments.
• Develop roadmaps aligning with business goals and standards.
• Lead migrations to cloud platforms and SaaS with minimal risk.
• Oversee development using the Microsoft stack (.NET/C#).
• Mentor technology professionals and manage talent lifecycle.
• Establish DevOps, QA, release, and change management practices.
• Provide executive cybersecurity oversight and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure PCI/DSS, ITIL, and governance standards.
• Advise executive leadership and government partners on strategy.
• Manage vendor and partner relationships and cloud providers.
• Develop annual technology budgets and investment plans.
• Monitor SLAs for availability, support, and performance.
• Drive innovation through emerging tech adoption.
• Communicate vision and metrics to stakeholders.
