Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Technology Solutions Specialist to own business analysis for moderate Pearson Professional Assessments (PPA) system enhancements, product improvements, integrations, and reporting initiatives. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Data, QA, and operations to translate needs into actionable requirements and data mappings.

You will manage ambiguity, ensure traceability, and deliver clear, testable requirements aligned to PPA outcomes, including automation opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Technology, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 2-3 years of business analysis or related delivery experience.
• Experience with Agile delivery, SDLC, Jira/Azure DevOps, Confluence/SharePoint, process mapping, and requirements lifecycle management.
• Experience with enterprise systems, integrations, APIs, reporting, SQL/data analysis, or operational workflow analysis preferred.
• IIBA certification, Agile certification, Pearson partner certifications, or related badges preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements elicitation for initiatives, enhancements, and system changes.
• Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data mappings, and system behavior.
• Use approved AI tools to accelerate requirement drafting, stakeholder synthesis, and documentation.
• Perform AI-assisted data analysis to identify trends, bottlenecks, and insights for reporting.
• Analyze current-state processes and recommend future-state improvements for efficiency and data quality.
• Evaluate system impacts across Pearson applications, integrations, APIs, data stores, and reporting tools.
• Decompose requirements into backlog items and technical tickets with cross-functional teams.
• Support backlog refinement, data alignment sessions, demos, and reviews with stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation as a single source of truth including API notes, mappings, decisions, and open questions.
• Communicate scope, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs clearly to business and tech teams.
• Identify opportunities for automation and AI-enabled improvements in workflows and reporting.
