Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) invites you to join its Los Angeles team as a Technology Services Designer II.

You will translate complex design concepts into precise layouts, drawing on basis of design data, user input, field surveys and code research to deliver optimized technology systems for energy-efficient buildings. You will collaborate with engineers, consultants and clients to coordinate systems and address operational needs, while staying curious about emerging technologies and

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in building systems design – structured cabling, technology systems infrastructure and low voltage electrical systems.
• Understanding of building systems spatial requirements and design coordination.
• Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD.
• Interest in helping clients leverage technology and technology systems to address their operational needs and meet their staff and organizational goals.
• Interest in and curiosity about existing and emerging technologies.
• Knowledge of NEC, TIA, BICSI, FGI standards.

Responsibilities

• Convert system design concepts into layouts by interpreting basis of design and information gathered from users, consultants, field surveys and code research.
• Collaborate with clients and other consultants to ensure design integrity and timely delivery.
• Coordinate design with discipline teams to meet project goals.
• Continuously learn about new technologies to support energy-efficient building solutions.
