We are seeking an experienced Technology Procurement Specialist to manage procurement, licensing, contracts, and vendor relationships for enterprise technology products and services.
This position will forecast technology needs, research and negotiate hardware and software purchases, manage vendor and service agreements, oversee software licensing and compliance, and support technology budgeting and capital expenditure processes.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technology procurement and contract negotiation experience with a solid understanding of enterprise hardware, software, licensing, and cloud services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities for technology hardware, software, subscriptions, services, and related solutions.
- Research technology requirements and identify solutions that provide the best combination of cost, quality, delivery, functionality, and vendor support.
- Negotiate software agreements, vendor contracts, pricing, renewals, and terms and conditions.
- Manage technology vendor and supplier contracts, including renewals, service agreements, and supplier risk considerations.
- Monitor vendor performance and work with suppliers to resolve service, delivery, pricing, or contractual issues.
- Evaluate vendors and recommend alternative suppliers when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of software licenses, subscriptions, maintenance agreements, and technology services.
- Conduct periodic software and technology inventory reviews to support licensing accuracy and compliance.
- Review software licensing terms, including commercial and open-source licensing agreements.
- Create, track, and process purchase requisitions and technology orders.
- Track purchases through delivery and assist with invoice review and approval.
- Research, prepare, and process technology capital expenditure requests.
- Assist IT leadership with quarterly and annual budgeting activities.
- Develop and maintain procurement procedures, policies, and supporting documentation.
- Support organizational compliance requirements, including ISO 27001 and related technology and information-security standards.
- Perform additional technology procurement and vendor-management responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
- Strong experience with software negotiation and contract management.
- Working knowledge of enterprise computing hardware, software, and technology services.
- Strong understanding of software licensing models and agreements, including open-source licensing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including functions, pivot tables, reporting, and charting.
- Strong vendor-management and supplier-negotiation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to quickly learn new technology, procurement processes, and systems.
- Experience developing or improving procurement procedures and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement.
- Experience procuring or managing enterprise cloud services such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Professional procurement or technology asset-management certifications such as CSAM, CPSM, or similar credentials.
