Job summary

Middleburg Communities is seeking a Business Technology Operations Manager based in Vienna, VA. You will own day-to-day technology operations for 250+ employees across multiple sites, including hardware lifecycle, site technology, procurement, and vendor coordination.

This growth role offers mentorship from the CTO and increasing responsibilities as you prove judgment and initiative. The role requires hands-on execution with occasional travel (~30%) to offices, communities, and construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field; recent graduates of technical master's programs encouraged.
• 5–10 years of related experience or equivalent
• Strong understanding of hardware troubleshooting, imaging, and device lifecycle management
• Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (IP, DNS, DHCP, wireless) and security hygiene (MFA, patching)
• Interest in vendor management, sourcing, and cost optimization for technology purchases
• Willingness to be mentored by CTO and grow into higher-level operations and strategy

Responsibilities

• Partner with the CTO on cost analysis, vendor evaluation, and process improvement.
• Own the full lifecycle of company-issued technology: configuration, deployment, maintenance, repair, refresh, retirement.
• Perform hands-on hardware work: upgrades, imaging, setup.
• Administer user accounts and access controls within defined boundaries.
• Coordinate with MSPs and vendors to keep devices current and secure.
• Maintain site-level technology records and runbooks; prepare purchase requests and orders.
• Travel ~30% to offices, communities, and construction sites to deploy and document technology.
• Lead or support vendor RFPs, bid evaluations, and recommendations to CTO & CFO.
