Job summary

Eagle Seven in Chicago seeks a Technology Operations Engineer to join a team blending trading, development, and systems administration. The role requires ownership mindset and the ability to adapt to rotating schedules between US and Asia.

You will monitor the trading system, diagnose complex issues, work with risk and trading desks, manage daily changes, and automate deployments across Linux and Windows while building tools to improve reliability and speed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience supporting, administering, or developing on Linux-based environments.
• Strong proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with basic scripting, preferably Python.
• Experience with distributed version control systems.
• Understanding of configuration management tools such as Salt, Puppet, or Chef.
• Exposure to monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience with JIRA or similar ticketing systems.
• Knowledge of log aggregation, monitoring, troubleshooting tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration across teams.
• Demonstrated ownership and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the trading system and identify issues.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems to keep trading online.
• Collaborate with risk team and trading desks to understand requirements.
• Manage daily changes and communicate statuses to the company.
• Automate software distribution and deployments for Linux and Windows applications.
• Build new tools to manage the system and reduce effort and errors.
