Role Overview
The Technology Instructor joins an Agile team operating within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) in support of a fast-paced, mission-critical program. In this role, you will analyze, design, develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive technical training solutions for enterprise server, network, and platform environments.
Key responsibilities include creating and delivering certification-focused curricula, Written Course of Instruction (WCI) packages, and related technical learning products. You will conduct task analyses, build laboratory exercises, lead course delivery, and collaborate closely with engineering and program support teams to keep technical training aligned with evolving system baselines.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Design & Development: Design, develop, and maintain instructor-led and blended learning solutions focused on enterprise server, network, and platform administration.
- Instructional Delivery: Deliver competency-based, hands-on training to technical personnel using varied instructional methods, multimedia tools, and lab environments.
- Technical Documentation & Analysis: Analyze engineering baselines, technical manuals, system specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to identify gaps and build targeted learning objectives.
- Training Material Creation: Produce lesson plans, instructor guides, student manuals, job aids, practical lab exercises, assessments, and WCI documentation.
- Course Lifecycle Management: Lead pilot deliveries, facilitate course validation, track student evaluations, monitor training effectiveness metrics, and manage regular content updates under strict configuration control.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with systems engineers, network architects, technical writers, and program leadership to ensure training solutions accurately reflect production systems.
Required Qualifications
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Experience:
- At least twelve (12) years of relevant experience in technical training, instructional delivery, curriculum design, or technology-focused education supporting enterprise IT, server, network, and platform environments.
- Minimum of five (5) years dedicated to Instructional Systems Design (ISD), curriculum development, or technical training creation.
- Systems Administration Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of Windows Server administration (including Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022).
- Working knowledge of Linux system administration.
- Training Delivery & Tooling:
- Demonstrated track record of delivering instructor-led technical training across multiple delivery tools and platforms.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Extensive background authoring technical documentation, lab guides, and instructional content.
- Agile Execution: Proven ability to drive concurrent development projects in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team setting.
Desired Skills
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning, Education, Technical Communication, or a related field.
- Customer Environment: Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), or federal contractor training initiatives.
- Enterprise Networking: Familiarity with firewalls, load balancers, IDS/NIDS, NAT/PAT, VLANs, ACLs, Cisco Nexus/Catalyst platforms, and cloud networking architectures.
- Infrastructure Knowledge: Practical understanding of virtualization, cloud computing, cybersecurity controls, and enterprise data center technologies.
