Job summary

Cumberland County's Innovation & Technology Services Department seeks a Deputy Innovation & Technology Services Director to lead a diverse technology team and guide the county's strategy.

Reporting to the Chief ITS Director, the role directs ITS Managers, shapes priorities, ensures reliable and cost-effective services, and partners with county departments to forecast needs and deliver customer-focused public service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or related field and five years of progressively responsible IT leadership experience.
• Master’s degree and certifications such as PMP and ITIL preferred.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and align technology with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and supervision to ITS Managers, setting performance expectations and directing staff development.
• Directs departmental operations, adjusting schedules, workflows, and resources for efficient service levels.
• Develops, maintains, and implements the ITS strategic plan in alignment with county goals.
• Leads long-range technology planning for networks, systems, GIS, and emerging tech.
• Coordinates planning across multi-vendor environments and evaluates tech solutions.
• Advises the Director on goals, staffing, budgeting, and technology directions.
• Consults with county departments to determine current and future tech needs and costs.
• Develops and prioritizes departmental budget requirements for hardware, software, and resources.
