Job summary

Apex Systems, LLC seeks a Technology Governance Lead to establish and operate governance models across the organization in Charlotte, NC. You will drive risk-aware decision making, leverage data for executive reporting, and work with cross-functional teams to align governance with strategic goals.

The role requires deep experience in IT governance, portfolio management, and change management, plus hands-on AI prompting and strong Excel/Office skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT experience in support of Business Services or equivalent experience.
• Experience building governance, operating models, or execution frameworks within large organizations.
• Experience with technology governance, portfolio management, strategy execution, or technology project/program environments.
• Ability to establish repeatable processes and manage ongoing operations in evolving environments.
• Working knowledge of technology change management frameworks.
• Strong understanding of risk management and using data to identify technology-related risks.
• Experience performing complex data analysis and creating executive reporting materials.
• Hands-on familiarity with generative AI, prompting, and tools like Copilot.
• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and influence across functions.
• Strong skills with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

## Job Description# Technology Governance Lead* 7+ years of Information Technology experience in support of Business Services, or equivalent demonstrated through work or consulting experience, training, or military experience.* Experience building and operationalizing governance, operating models, or execution frameworks within large, complex organizations.* Experience with technology governance, portfolio management, strategy execution, or technology project and program environments.* Demonstrated ability to establish repeatable processes and manage ongoing operations in evolving environments.* Working knowledge of technology change management frameworks.* Strong understanding of risk management and the ability to use data to identify technology-related risks.* Experience performing complex data analysis and creating executive communication and reporting materials.* Hands-on familiarity with generative AI, particularly prompting and using tools such as Copilot.* Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and influence stakeholders across functions.* Strong skills with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.* Experience working within financial services or another large, complex organization.* Previous experience within a technology strategy, technology governance, portfolio management, command center, or technology risk function.* Technical or engineering experience that provides a strong understanding of technology environments is beneficial.* Experience with JIRA and Confluence.* Experience with Business Intelligence and reporting tools or functions.* Experience supporting solution delivery and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
