Job description

Technology Designer/Engineer

Location: Orlando, FL; Milwaukee, WI; Los Angeles, CA. You will work with the Technology Design team to design and specify structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, security systems, and other low‑voltage (ELV) systems.

Responsibilities
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and analytical skills; strong organizational skills and ability to multi‑task across multiple projects.
  • Work virtually and communicate efficiently across geographies with multiple project teams.
  • Basic understanding of Structured Cabling Systems, Audio/Visual Systems, Security Systems, and other communication technology systems.
  • Attend in‑house coordination meetings and discuss design requirements with engineers.
  • Understand proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents and deliver appropriate documentation with input from engineers.
  • Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD.
  • Develop equipment room sizes during SD and DD phases; prepare electrical and cooling load calculations.
  • Read and interpret industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, FGI) and incorporate them into designs.
  • Prepare floor plans showing low‑voltage device layouts, cable pathways, equipment, and system riser diagrams.
  • Select and schedule equipment.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (MEPFP, architectural, structural, etc.).
  • Apply existing design details relevant to projects; manage design process within available hours.
  • Prepare revisions (ASI’s, etc.) and sketches according to proper numbering convention.
Qualifications
  • Engineering degree (BS Electrical, BS Architectural Engineering, or equivalent) from an accredited school.
  • 0–2 years of experience in low‑voltage or infrastructure systems design.
  • Ability to work virtually across offices and collaborate with multiple teams.
  • Strong organizational and multi‑tasking skills.
Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $85,000, adjusted for skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location. All full‑time employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, vacation time, and 401(k) retirement benefits.
