Smith Seckman Reid, Inc in Houston, TX seeks a Technology Consultant to lead design and consulting efforts for technology systems on projects, including structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, nurse call, audiovisual, and other low‑voltage networks. You will manage projects from scoping, pricing and staffing to on‑time, on‑budget delivery with high technical quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, IS or a related field plus 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working with architects and knowledge of architectural design phases.
• Must have security clearance and healthcare construction exposure is helpful.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiar with low‑voltage systems (nurse call, AV, PA, security).
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, NFPA and related codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform project management, establish project plans, budgets and QA/QC.
• Develop design approaches and coordinate with senior staff as needed.
• Lead meetings to define scope, needs, processes, and client expectations.
• Review shop drawings, track changes, and provide feedback to designers.
• Communicate with owners, architects and contractors as required.
• Conduct site visits to verify progress and design conformance with codes.
• Prepare and maintain project budgets and staffing.
• Engage in professional organizations to enhance the firm’s reputation.
• Stay current with industry trends and internal policies during project execution.
