Job summary

Grand St. Settlement seeks a Site Director for the Grand Bridge Tech Center, guiding technology and STEAM programming that advances digital equity and workforce readiness in Manhattan.

You will oversee COMPASS after-school, holiday, and summer initiatives, build strategic partnerships, and ensure high-quality, equitable services for youth and families. The role requires strong leadership, curriculum development, and collaboration across schools and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Experience in a community center or school-based after-school program; supervisory experience.
• Must obtain SACC Program Director's (30-hour) credentials.
• Able to work independently, prioritize, and take initiative.
• Strong oral, written, and collaborative skills.
• Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and structured programming for elementary students.
• Budgeting familiarity and fiscal management a plus.
• Familiarity with DYCD Online and database management is a plus.
• Ability to obtain SCR clearance and fingerprints.
• Experience with urban school/community settings.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.
• Ability to build positive relationships with school administration.
• Knowledge of NY State Learning Standards.
• Desirable knowledge in STEM, health, careers, life planning, sports, and enrichment.
• Trained/experienced in supporting mental health conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for the Grand Bridge Tech Center as a flagship tech and STEAM hub.
• Direct planning, implementation, and evaluation of Center operations.
• Oversee DYCD COMPASS-funded after-school, holiday, and summer programming.
• Develop innovative STEAM, digital literacy, workforce readiness, and academic enrichment opportunities.
• Design multi-generational programming promoting lifelong learning and digital inclusion.
• Develop outreach, enrollment, and retention strategies.
• Partner with schools and staff to align programming with learning objectives.
• Foster an inclusive, trauma-informed environment respecting diverse communities.
• Coordinate wraparound services and referrals with social workers and partners.
• Supervise staff, interns, volunteers, and consultants; promote growth and collaboration.
• Establish measurable outcomes and drive quality improvement.
• Build partnerships with educators, organizations, and employers to expand opportunities.
• Coordinate programming with resident and partner organizations within GBTC.
• Oversee the annual programming calendar and special initiatives.
• Represent Grand St. Settlement with funders and community leaders.
