Job summary

South Jersey Radiology Associates in Turnersville, NJ, is seeking a Reading Room Assistant to support and assist technologists in the care of patients within the X-Ray, Mammography and Ultrasound departments.

You will escort patients, verify information, handle documents, and communicate with radiologists and physicians. Training in the Reading Room and cross-training in other departments are available. Shift options include days/evenings with 4 or 8 hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients from waiting area to department for studies.
• Review and verify patient information for accuracy.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and Corporate Compliance.
• Assist patients with changing clothes when required for studies.
• Daily computer keyboard use and data entry.
• Monitor modality work list and print/scan documents into patient accounts.
• Keep the work area stocked, orderly and clean; release images to patients as needed.
• Communicate information to radiologists, technologists, patients and referring offices.
• Train in the Reading Room as applicable; cross-train in other departments as needed.
• Display a well-groomed professional image; punctuality and regular attendance.

SUMMARY - To support and assist technologist in care of patients within the X-Ray, Mammography and Ultrasound departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Escort patients from main waiting area to department for studies
• Review and verify patient's information for accuracy
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations
• Have patient change; if indicated for study
• Daily computer keyboard use
• Monitor modality work list
• Print and/or scan documents into patient accounts
• Keep the work area stocked, orderly and clean
• Release images to patients when necessary
• Communicate information to radiologists, technologists, patients and referring physician offices
• Train in the Reading Room as a Reading Room Assistant, as applicable
• Cross train in other department as support staff
• Display a well-groomed professional image
• Punctuality and regular attendance
• All other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Prior experience in a medical setting preferred
