South Jersey Radiology Associates is seeking an ultrasound technologist to perform ultrasound examinations and provide preliminary findings to Radiologists at the Mt Laurel Center. The role involves reviewing patient and referral information, explaining procedures, and performing high-quality studies.

Qualifications include RDMS in Abdomen/OB-GYN, preferred RVT, and 2+ years of ultrasound experience. The position is per diem with shifts varying and local travel to SJRA offices may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret ultrasound images and communicate findings.

Responsabilités

• Review patient and referring physician information prior to exam.
• Explain procedure to patient and answer questions.
• Perform ultrasound studies as ordered by physicians.
• Review images with radiologists when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Provide written technical interpretations to Radiologist.
• Maintain exam rooms and QC checklist.
• Travel to SJRA offices as needed.
• Assist patients on/off exam tables and handle lifts/bends as required.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness to prevent exposure to blood or body fluids.

SUMMARY –Perform ultrasound examinations as ordered by referring physicians and report the preliminary findings to the Radiologists.

• Position Type: Per Diem-shifts varies
• Location: Mt Laurel Center

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review personal information for accuracy , patient information ,referring physician, referral/script prior to performing the examination
• Explain procedure to patient and answer any questionsregarding the exam procedure
• Perform a high quality ultrasound studies as ordered by the referring physicians’ orders
• Review images with radiologists when necessary
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations
• Provide accurate written technical interpretation to Radiologist
• Maintain exam rooms, which may include stocking with supplies
• Maintainwork area and equipment QC checklist
• Travel to SJRA offices as necessary
• Punctuality and regular attendance
• All other duties as assigned
• 80-85% of shiftstanding scanning patients
• Repetitive motion using transducers
• Position requires lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping and twisting, assisting patients on and off examination table
• Patient contact
• Assist patients on and off exam tables as indicated
• Potential exposure for any communicable disease
• Potential exposure to blood and body fluids
• Contact with coworkers, patients and their family members, physicians, referring physicians and their office staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

• RDMS (Abdomen and/or OB/GYN)
• RVT preferred
• Two years experience as ultrasound technologist preferred
• Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
• Proficient computer skills
• Infection control practices
• Knowledge of pathology
• Knowledge of image interpretation
• High level disinfectant procedures

Physical Demands of the Position – Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling and reaching during scheduled shift. Assist patients on and off exam tables.

Working Conditions – Indoor office setting with daily patient contact. There is the potential of exposure to blood and other body fluids.
