BWXT is seeking a Technologist 4 for Fuel Development & Variability Reduction in Erwin, Tennessee. In this role, you will have technical responsibility for manufacturing and quality control processes, and may act as a group leader for other technicians.

Technologist 4 – Fuel Development & Variability Reduction

Position Overview Under supervision of the manager, this role holds technical responsibility for manufacturing, quality control, and subcontractor processes. The position may act as a group leader for other technicians/technologists engaged in mutual technical work. Extensive knowledge and experience across broad assignments is required, with the ability to make independent decisions on problems, methods, and represent the division in conferences to resolve important questions and coordinate work.

On‑site in Erwin, Tennessee.

Your Day to Day as a Technologist 4 in Fuel Development & Variability Reduction
  • Plans, develops, and coordinates a large and important project or a number of smaller projects.
  • Performs complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
  • May develop and evaluate plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others.
  • Organizes own work and that of other technicians/technologists who may be assigned as assistants on projects. Estimates personnel needs and schedules and assigns work to meet completion dates.
  • Provides periodic written reports outlining work to date, problems encountered, and effective solutions.
  • Performs assigned work in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Assists in the training of new personnel.
Required Qualifications

A.S. Degree in a technical field plus 8 years’ experience, or 12 years’ experience in a technical field of work.
