Job summary

AmeriCorps & Senior Corps partner organization is seeking Tech Mentors to support STREAM learning sessions for PK-12 students. You will tutor individually, organize regional and national competitions, and assist with materials, equipment setup, and inventory.

You will record attendance and performance data, participate in AmeriCorps community service activities, and help with documentation through photos and evidence collection while adhering to program guidelines.

Job description

Techno Inventors expands access to S.T.R.E.A.M.-based training for PK-12 students (ages 5 to 18). It facilitates hands-on training activities in technology and artificial intelligence, supporting participants in creative invention projects, digital skill development, and critical thinking. Activities are delivered during the regular school day (8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), after-school programs (4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), Saturday clubs (8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.), a 2-hour introductory workshop, four seasonal camps (summer, winter, spring, and Thanksgiving; 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), and annual robotics competitions, including four regional competitions, a national competition, and a world competition (8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.).

Member Duties

Tech Mentors support STREAM learning sessions and provide individualized tutoring, aiming for at least 75% of participants to improve their STEM skills based on pre- and post-assessments. They support the organization of and mentoring for regional and national WRO competitions. They prepare materials, handle equipment setup and breakdown, and conduct inventory at the end of each workshop. They record attendance, evidence, and performance data, submitting them to the supervisor according to the reporting schedule. They participate in AmeriCorps community service activities (such as MLK Day of Service or AmeriCorps Week), support logistics for educational events and fairs, and assist with documentation through photography and evidence collection (subject to appropriate authorizations).
