Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Van Horn, TX is hiring an Integration Technician focused on instrumentation and controls systems used in rocket engine testing. You will fabricate, install, calibrate, and test sensor networks and harnesses, supporting safety-critical hardware in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

You will work with PLCs, DAQ systems, and thermocouples, performing harness assembly and troubleshooting while following schematics and P&ID.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Instrumentation & Controls, Avionics, rocket/jet engine testing or similar field.
  • Ability to closely follow electrical schematics, diagrams, and P&ID.
  • Perform mate/de-mate, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and testing of harnesses and electronic components.
  • Familiar with test, flight, safety, and proper handling of critical hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Data Acquisition Systems and sensors, with good instrumentation calibration.
  • Mechanical aptitude, use of hand tools, and safe working practices.
  • Familiar with PLC’s, installing and troubleshooting instrumentation including valve positioners, thermocouples, and transducers.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders, and work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, maintain, and operate instrumentation and controls systems for rocket engine testing.
  • Support sensor calibrations and checkout of wire harnesses and flight hardware.
  • Follow electrical schematics and P&ID; assemble and test harnesses and components.
  • Work with Data Acquisition Systems and instrumentation calibration.
  • Adhere to safety procedures for hazardous chemicals and high-pressure systems.

You will support sensor calibrations, perform fabrication, installation, and checkout of wire harnesses, flight hardware, and instrumentation systems.
