Job Title:

Technician Systems

Location(s):

Windsor Mill, MD

Targeted Years of Experience:

5-7 years

Responsibilities:
  1. Inspecting, analyzing, and troubleshooting systems and equipment.
  2. Reading repair manuals and liaising with other professionals.
  3. Running tests and interpreting results to make effective recommendations.
  4. Writing reports, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance plans.
  5. Repairing or replacing faulty equipment.
  6. Fabricating components as required.
  7. Work onsite required.
Must Have Skills:
  1. Support for capital projects (eNSE, Router Migrations, Bandwidth Upgrades).
  2. Perform software upgrades to routers and other equipment.
  3. Understand, monitor, and troubleshoot circuit issues.
Desired Skills:
  1. Experience with installation, operation, and maintenance of switching, data communications, and peripheral equipment, particularly related to Mobile Switching Centers.
  2. Coordinate installation, testing, and troubleshooting on voice and data network platforms.
  3. Maintain system applications using traffic and capacity monitoring tools.
  4. Monitor building automated systems to maintain network operation.
  5. Maintain a secure environment to ensure vendor safety and network integrity.
  6. Update logs and document system changes.
  7. Support stakeholders in solving complex problems.
  8. Identify and improve processes.
  9. Assist with cell site build programs and switch inventory management.
  10. Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, work in elevated areas, lift objects up to 40 pounds, and perform tasks in small spaces.
Education:
  1. Four-year degree (BA, BS, Engineering, Computer Science).
  2. Willingness to work flexible hours.
  3. Ability to perform physical tasks with or without accommodation.
  4. Ability to work independently on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  5. Experience in wireless networks.
  6. Knowledge or certification in LAN/WAN switching and IP routing protocols (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, NRS).
  7. Experience with automation, programming, and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  8. Knowledge of electronic test equipment.
  9. Understanding of transmission facilities (fiber, Ethernet, OCn, T3, T1, DS0).
  10. Training or experience in data communications, digital communications, Linux OS, telecommunications, networking, or router support.
  11. Knowledge of power systems and batteries.
  12. Project management skills.
  13. Experience with Ericsson, Samsung, Ciena, or Nokia equipment.
