The successful candidate will apply analytical and hands-on QA skills to diagnose complex problems, manage multiple projects, and work with supervisors, engineers, and external vendors to drive testing

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Hands-on experience with Instron testing equipment.
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot advanced technical issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and set daily priorities.
  • Excellent interface with supervisors, engineers and vendors.
  • Experience working under strict protocol frameworks to develop solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Support advanced technical testing workflows from concept through V&V to production deployment.
  • Lead or mentor on selected technical activities as needed.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional staff and external vendors.
  • Perform risk reduction testing (RRT) and Verification & Validation (V&V) activities.

Job description

Job Summary Our client, a leading healthcare and life sciences provider, is seeking a Technician Support Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will provide advanced technical support for multiple project teams concurrently, with a heavy emphasis on medical device testing, troubleshooting, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Core Responsibilities

Utilize a broad set of analytical and technical tools with a strong emphasis on Risk Reduction Testing (RRT) and Verification and Validation (V&V) testing. Apply mechanical, Quality Assurance (QA), and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve advanced technical problems, including operating Instron testing equipment. Handle multiple concurrent projects simultaneously, understanding task priorities to plan daily activities and develop creative solutions under protocols. Partner with a broad group of cross‑functional staff, including supervisors, engineers, designers, technicians, vendors, and suppliers. Take a lead role in selected technical activities, which may include training, mentoring, coaching, or providing daily guidance to designers and technicians. Own and support advanced technical testing workflows from the initial concept phase completely through V&V and production deployment.

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Hands‑on experience or proficiency utilizing Instron mechanical testing machinery
  • Proven analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues within a primary technical discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once and self‑direct daily schedules based on project priorities
  • Strong capability to interface directly with supervisors, engineers, and external vendors/suppliers
  • Experience working within strict protocol frameworks to develop creative engineering or mechanical solutions
Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Associate degree, 2‑year trade school certification, or military technical school training
  • 5+ years of professional engineering, designing, or drafting experience
  • Technical skills or knowledge in a secondary technical discipline (e.g., dual experience in both QA and Mechanical support)
  • Experience interviewing, recruiting, selecting, or onboarding technical project team members

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $22.00 and $32.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
