Job summary

Barry Callebaut Group is hiring a Sanitation Technician in American Canyon, CA. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean facility, equipment, and compliance with microbiology standards and food safety regulations.

Under the direction of the Sanitation Lead, you will follow cleaning plans, work in a team, and support GMP practices. The role includes potential overtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and offers growth within the company.

Qualifications

• High School or vocational school diploma or equivalent.
• Past manufacturing experience is preferred in a food production environment.
• Excellent attendance and safety record is expected.

Responsibilities

• Follow master cleaning plan daily.
• Sweep, mop, scrub and vacuum floors using cleaning solutions and equipment.
• Clean walls, pipes, ladders, windows, plant equipment and fixtures.
• Gathers and empties trash daily.
• Communicate relevant information to relieving shift at shift-change.
• Assist in other areas as needed.
• Commitment to providing a safe food product and adherence to GMP and food safety requirements.

About The Role

Under the direction of the Sanitation Lead, the Sanitation Technician will be responsible for keeping facility, equipment and machines in clean and orderly condition in order to get all products made in American Canyon within microbiology standards. Demonstrate ownership in plant and food safety, including all regulatory requirements.

• Follow master cleaning plan daily.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs and vacuums floors of the building, using cleaning solutions, tools and equipment
• Clean walls, pipes, ladders, windows, plant equipment and building fixtures, using cleaning equipment, scrapers, brooms and variety of hand and power tools.
• Gathers and empties trash daily.
• Communicate all relevant information to relieving shift at shift-change including equipment issues, any tasks not completed, etc.
• Assist in other areas as needed.
• Committed to providing a safe food product.
• Works within all regulatory requirements.
• Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety and food defense requirements.

Education

• High School or vocational school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of two to four years’ manufacturing experience. Past history of working in a food production environment.

Work Experience

• Excellent attendance and safety record.
• Must be able to work in all areas of the factory as well as office environment and laboratory.
• Some exposure in a high noise environment, occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Overtime may be required.
• Works well in a team as well as independently.
