Job summary

D&W Fine Pack is seeking a Quality Technician for our manufacturing operations. You will inspect products to ensure compliance with quality standards, perform GMP-compliant quality testing, and enter data into Excel/SPC systems to support plant quality initiatives.

You will follow safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement activities while supporting the shift’s QA objectives and communicating issues to supervision.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and English fluency required.
  • Proficient in basic computer use.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Follow plant safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Inspect products for defects per quality standards and classify Pass/Fail.
  • Enter data accurately into Excel or SPC software.
  • Assist with ongoing re-inspections and quality audits.
  • Support GMP compliance and plant safety training.

Job description

D&W Fine Pack, a Mid Oaks Investments portfolio company, provides a wide range of products serving the food service and food packaging industry.

We have an immediate opportunity for a Quality Technician -1. In this function you will inspect manufactured products to ensure compliance and conformance to Quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines
  • Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc.
  • Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
  • Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately
  • Actively participates in the D&W safety improvement process/activities, e.g. Hazard Identification, Safety Suggestions, Safety Teams, etc.
  • Inspects products for defects as described by quality standards. Focus is on distinguishing major/minor defect levels within regards to product fit/form/function.
  • Identifies and determines products as Pass or Fail based on Quality standards
  • Alerts and advises supervision of potentially defective products
  • Provides Pass/No-Pass samples for machine sample boards; provides sample parts for shift production meetings
  • Communicates daily with supervision to stay informed of current quality concerns
  • Follows plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Conducts product quality audits per shift per machine; quality audits are performed in accordance to procedures.
  • Assists with ongoing re-inspections.
  • Departmental instructions may exist in which case expectations will be described in further detail.
  • Works with manufacturing to improve efficiency of inspection duties.
  • Enters data accurately into Excel or SPC software
  • Perform quality testing using laboratory measuring equipment Supports the Plant’s Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and by implementing / complying with the required practices.
