Job summary

ProAmpac in Auburn, WA is seeking a detail oriented Plate Mounter for our 12-hour 2-2-3 shift schedule. The role mounts printing plates onto cylinders to ensure color alignment on the presses.

You will read job orders, prepare cylinders, mount plates by color, verify accuracy, and follow quality and safety instructions, working with a team in a climate-controlled environment. Qualifications

• Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

• Mount printing plates onto cylinders or sleeves by color to match work orders.
• Read and interpret job work orders; collect cylinders for each job.
• Mount and lock plates, ensure correct registration and safety compliance.
• Interpret quality instructions; troubleshoot to prevent press downtime.

Wage Range: $23.50 DOE + $1.50 night shift differential.

About the role:

The Plate Mounting Technician is responsible for accurately mounting plates on to printing cylinders or sleeves so that the colors, as designated by the individual work order, go into the correct register when they get to the presses.

To perform this job, you will obtain and read job work orders.

Collect cylinders for each job and strip sticky back, mount print plates on cylinders by color, make sure all cylinders are correctly mounted and locked in place by interpreting and following quality and safety instructions, comparing different items, coordinating activities. Solve problems and correct errors by detecting details, analyzing information, measuring, and making calculations, reading manuals and instructions, researching problems, using judgment. Discuss production schedule with Shift Supervisor. Troubleshoot problems to prevent press downtime.

Requirements

• Must have excellent hand-eye coordination skills, strong mechanical skills and the ability to lift and load weights up to 50 pounds.


• Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.


• Must be able to read, write and fluently speak English; must be able to perform basic Math.


• Strong interpersonal, communication skills.


• Able to adjust to changing operational conditions; must be familiar with all machines, secondary and material handling operations of the department.


• Great attendance!

• Able to run specific jobs within prescribed times and meet all Safety, Quality, and Operational standards.


• Work in a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, dollies, forklift, hand tools, safety knives, packaging equipment, pallet jacks and standard safety equipment.


• Utilize resource materials including production schedule and standardized forms/paperwork.


• Ability to work overtime as needed


• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
