Job summary

GFL Environmental Services in Whitehall Township, MI is seeking industrial shop labor to safely perform high-pressure water blasting, sandblasting, and plasma cutting. This full-time role includes a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth within the company’s team-first culture.

First and second shifts are available. Candidates must work well in a team, adhere to safety protocols, and be willing to perform related duties as assigned by site leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience working around heavy equipment and industrial settings.
• Proven experience with high-pressure water blasting and sandblasting.
• Ability to operate safely with PPE and follow site safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-pressure water blasting and sandblasting tasks.
• Operate carbon arc/plasma cutting equipment.
• Maintain PPE and ensure a safe job site at all times.
• Assist with daily duties as directed by supervision.

Responsible for safely and efficiently completing tasks and duties associated with industrial shop labor such as high-pressure water blasting, sandblasting and plasma cutting. Job Responsibilities:

• High-pressure water blasting and sandblasting
• Carbon arc, plasma cutting.
• Requires the ability to properly wear, use, and maintain personal protective equipment.
• Uniforms and all PPE provided.
• Monitor job site for hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
• May be exposed to varying levels of physical activities and physical extremes such as long periods of standing, walking, crouching, use of hand tools, and heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by site superintendent, or management.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working around heavy equipment.
• High pressure water blasting and sandblasting experience.
• Pre-employment drug and criminal background screening required.
• Must be willing to work in a team-oriented environment.
