Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital seeks a skilled Radiology Technician to operate X-ray and CT imaging systems, with the ability to work in two additional modalities. The role requires 1–2 years of multi-modality experience, a California CRT license with fluoroscopy, and ARRT certification. BLS is required, with venipuncture certification for MRI or CT.

Prior acute care experience is preferred. The Radiology team emphasizes patient safety and high-quality imaging, aiming to minimize radiation exposure

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in two or more modalities (CT, MR, IR, or Cath Lab).
  • Diploma from a certified school of radiology technology.
  • Current California Radiology Technologist (CRT) license with fluoroscopy licensure.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) license.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification.
  • Venipuncture certification (for MRI or CT).
  • Minimum two years’ experience as a radiology technologist in an acute care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all diagnostic radiology equipment (fluoroscopy room, portable, DR room) and perform all related procedures.
  • Ability to operate in two other modalities (CT, MR, IR, or Cath Lab) and maintain image quality while minimizing patient radiation exposure.
  • Assist the radiologist during injections, biopsies, or drainage procedures by preparing the room and supplies and anticipating needs.
  • Assist radiologist during fluoroscopy/injection procedures and ensure patient safety.
  • Respond immediately to Imaging Lead/Manager/Director for equipment problems and coordinate repairs.
  • Stocking rooms, maintaining a clean work area, transporting patients, and related duties.

Technician Multi-Modality (X-Ray/CT)

The Radiology Tech is responsible for operating all radiology equipment and performing diagnostic radiology procedures associated with each type of equipment. Ability to operate in two specified modalities (X-Ray, CT) in addition to Diagnostic Radiology, analyze body habitus to correctly adjust technical factors, position the body correctly, review physicians written orders or obtain pertinent clinical data to consistently produce high-quality images and reduce unnecessary radiation to patients and oneself.

Essential Job Duties
  • Operate all diagnostic radiology equipment (i.e. Fluoroscopy room, portable, and DR room). Perform all diagnostic radiology procedures associated with each type of equipment
  • Ability to operate in two other modalities (either CT, MR, Cath Lab, or IR) in addition to Diagnostic Radiology, analyze body habitus to correctly adjust technical factors, position the body correctly, review physicians written orders or obtain pertinent clinical data to consistently produce high-quality images and reduce unnecessary radiation to patients and oneself. Completed department orientation and/or competency skills rosters as required
  • Assists the radiologist during (injection, biopsy, drainage) procedures and if necessary (contrast reactions or code blues) by preparing the room, tray, and supplies and by anticipating the needs of the physicians, nursing staff and patients
  • Assists the radiologist during fluoroscopy and/or injection procedures (i.e. room and supply preparation, contrast reaction, code blue, patient safety, etc.)
  • Responds immediately to Imaging Lead/Manager/Director any equipment problems (i.e. x-ray, portables, computers, etc.)
  • Performs other related duties as requested by the Imaging Manager/ Lead or Director including but not limited to: stocking rooms, maintaining a clean work area, transporting patients, etc.
Qualifications
Experience/Training/Education
  • 1-2 years of experience in two or more modalities (i.e. CT, MR, IR, or Cath Lab)
  • Diploma from a certified school of radiology technology
  • Current California Radiology Technologist (CRT) license with fluoroscopy licensure required
  • Current American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) license required
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification required
  • For MRI or CT- Venipuncture certification required
  • Minimum two years’ experience as a registered Radiology Technologist in an acute care facility preferred
