Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to join the clinical team. This role is responsible for processing and reporting laboratory tests, prioritizing specimens, and ensuring accuracy in results across assigned shifts.

Minimal requirement is an accredited MLT program; hospital experience is preferred. The position emphasizes quality control, ongoing learning, and strict patient identification practices to minimize errors.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited MLT program required.
• No experience required, but hospital exposure preferred.
• Temporary state licensure and/or national registration or certification; full licensure within six months of hire.

Utilizes laboratory skills to perform and report results of clearly defined laboratory procedures assuring optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for assigned shifts and subject to overtime and call back as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience

Minimum Required

• No experience necessary, but must have completed accredited MLT program.

Preferred/Desired

• Hospital experience preferred.

Licensure

• Temporary state licensure and/or national registration or certification in concordance with current federal and/or state regulations. Full required licensure must be obtained within six months of hire date.
