Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking an electronics-oriented assembler in Reading, PA to fabricate and assemble high-quality products. You will work with a range of components, wiring and enclosures, following detailed procedures and schematics to ensure accurate builds.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years electronics experience, and 2+ years of assembly experience. Physical capability to lift up to 35 lbs and read wiring diagrams is needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience with wiring, assembly and hand tools for high quality fabrication.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring lists and engineering drawings to build products.
  • Requires attention to detail and manual dexterity for small components.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate Hipo products, including assembly of sub-assemblies and wiring per instructions.
  • Follow procedures to assemble panels, racks, wiring, and enclosures; use power and hand tools.
  • Review and revise engineering docs for potential errors; assist in special projects.

Fabricate Hipotronics equipment to meet the customer's special application needs; train new personnel to do the same; maintain supplies and hand tools for the department. Assemble high quality complex products in an expedient manner.

A Day In The Life

Roles & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Fabricate Hipo products, which includes a wide variety of products requiring high amount of skill, experience, accuracy, and print reading.

  • Medium to heavy assembly
    • Assemble components used to make sub-assemblies
    • Install panels, card racks and sub-assemblies
    • Perform detailed wiring
    • Cabinet layout and wiring based diagrams, schematics and wire lists
    • Operate power and hand tools
    • Hand soldering
  • Fabricate and modifies products:
    • Printed circuit boards
    • Cable assemblies
    • Wiring harnesses
    • Wire wrap boards
    • Panels and enclosures
    • Cabinet sub-assemblies
    • Sheet metal assemblies
  • Operate crane
  • Operate oil processing equipment

Correct problems arising during fabrication and final testing of equipment.

Review and revise all engineering documentation for potential errors and omissions.

Assist in special projects.

Provide support/training to Assemblers, Technicians I as needed.

Recommend methods to improve the assembly.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Skills:

  • One to two years electronics experience
  • Two plus years of assembly experience and ability to follow written assembly procedures, assembly drawings, wire lists and wiring diagrams.
  • Must be able to proficiently read and use schematic and engineering drawings to build products

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs
  • Must be able to distinguish and identify different components/part colors
