Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Production Technician to collaborate with production and engineering teams to support manufacturing, troubleshoot equipment, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will help ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production, working with engineers to implement tooling and sizing improvements.

The role requires hands-on use of small hand tools, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds while standing most of the day.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds and stand 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot production issues and support manufacturing operations.
  • Assist engineers with new tooling and process improvements.
  • Analyze and implement improved manufacturing techniques in cells.
  • Perform time studies to verify processes reflect actual manufacturing.
  • Define requirements for replacement equipment from outside vendors.
  • Provide continuous improvement support to optimize production.

Job Overview

The Production Technician collaborates with production and engineering teams to support manufacturing operations, improve processes, troubleshoot equipment and production issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role helps ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production performance.

A Day In The Life
  • Works alongside production personnel and leadership to troubleshoot problems that arise with the implementation of any of the above tasks.
  • Assist engineers to identify and implement new tooling.
  • Work alongside manufacturing engineering to analyze, identify, design and implement improved manufacturing techniques and processes in work cells.
  • Perform time studies to verify current production sequence documentation is accurate to the actual manufacturing processes.
  • Work alongside manufacturing engineering to analyze, identify and implement replacement machinery to improve throughput of various production processes.
  • Aid manufacturing engineering in defining requirements and guidelines for replacement equipment and processes from outside vendors.
  • Work with production personnel and engineering to provide continuous improvement support to optimize the production process.

  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a technician or operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be proficient in verbal and written communication
  • Must be able to lift to 35 pounds
  • Must be able to stand on the job at least 75% of the time
  • Must be able to bend, lift, push, or pull without difficulty
  • Ability to use small hand tools on a daily basis
  • Frequent twisting of the head, neck, back, or hips may be required
