Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking an assembler to fabricate Hipotronics equipment and assemble complex sub-assemblies. You will read schematics, install panels, wire components, test assemblies, and train new personnel in the department.

This role requires lifting up to 35 lbs, using cranes and forklifts, and following detailed assembly drawings. You will review engineering documents, troubleshoot fabrication issues, and contribute to special projects while supporting fellow assemblers and

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years electronics experience and 2+ years assembly experience.
  • Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings to build products.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate Hipotronics equipment to meet customer needs and train others.
  • Assemble products, wiring, sub-assemblies and panels per drawings.
  • Operate power and hand tools, cranes, forklifts, and verify tests.
  • Review and revise engineering documentation for errors or omissions.
  • Provide support to Assemblers and Technicians as needed.
  • Assist on special projects and identify improvement methods.

Job Overview

$1000 sign-on bonus

Fabricate Hipotronics equipment to meet the customer's special application needs; train new personnel to do the same; maintain supplies and hand tools for the department.Assemble high quality complex products in an expedient manner.

A Day In The Life

Fabricate Hipotronics products, which includes a wide variety of products requiring high amount of skill, experience, accuracy, and print reading.

  • Medium to heavy assembly
    • Assemble components used to make sub-assemblies
    • Install panels, card racks and sub-assemblies
    • Perform detailed wiring
    • Cabinet layout and wiring based diagrams, schematics and wire lists
    • Operate power and hand tools
    • Hand soldering
  • Fabricate and modifies products:
    • Printed circuit boards
    • Cable assemblies
    • Wiring harnesses
    • Wire wrap boards
    • Panels and enclosures
    • Cabinet sub-assemblies
    • Sheet metal assemblies
  • Operate crane
  • Operate forklift
  • Operate oil processing equipment

Correct problems arising during fabrication and final testing of equipment.

Review and revise all engineering documentation for potential errors and omissions.

Assist in special projects.

Provide support/training to Assemblers, Technicians I as needed.

Recommend methods to improve the assembly.

Other duties as assigned.

What will help you thrive in this role?
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years electronics experience
  • Two plus years of assembly experience and ability to follow written assembly procedures, assembly drawings, wire lists and wiring diagrams.
  • Must be able to proficiently read and use schematic and engineering drawings to build products
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
  • Must be able to distinguish and identify different components/part colors
