POSITION SUMMARY
Multi‑skilled electromechanical technician with primary responsibilities to maintain equipment proactively, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and process controls abnormalities on all food production and packaging related equipment.
REMUNERATION & BENEFITS
- Pay rate: $35.67/hr
- Second shift differential: $1.75/hr; third shift differential: $2.25/hr
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Available shifts: 2nd shift 2:00‑10:30 pm; 3rd shift 10:00 pm‑6:30 am

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor on shift and/or Shift Manager. The role requires self‑directed work with only nominal daily supervision.
FINANCIAL/STRATEGIC IMPACT
The technician’s expertise on systems and timely troubleshooting of failures directly impacts the performance and reliability of the Nestlé Cleveland factory, enabling production to commence and minimizing downtime.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation, maintenance and repair of complex equipment integrating electrical, electronic and mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in electrical control systems, motor starters, VFDs, drives, motors, and mechanical assemblies
- Service, rebuild and repair production and packaging equipment; apply knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, power transmission, fasteners, seals, solenoids, fabrication and rigging
- Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components of food processing and packaging equipment, including liquid processing lines, rotary cup fillers, high‑speed liquid bottle fillers, conveyor systems, labelers, inkjet printers, case packers, palletizers, robotic palletizers, pick‑n‑place units, steam generators, metal detectors, X‑ray systems, and various meat and cooking equipment
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance, creating work orders in SAP/AMM or Prometheus, and ensuring cost‑effective equipment performance
- Apply predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, temperature sensors, oil analysis, and steam trap monitoring
- Complete all work orders timely and in accordance with company standards and best practices
- Provide technical training to operators per NCE/TPM/IWG practices, supporting knowledge transfer and operational autonomy
- Participate in problem‑solving tools such as BDA and GSTD
- Review and optimize maintenance plans, spare part levels, and obsolescence to maintain maximum reliability and efficient capital usage
- Adhere to all Nestlé and statutory safety permits, LOTO, OSHA, and GMP requirements during task execution
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two‑year technical degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, electromechanical maintenance, robotics, or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of industrial maintenance and electrical/controls experience preferred
EXPERIENCE
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required; food industry experience preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Creative and logical problem‑solving skills for equipment improvements that enhance safety, quality and cost
- Strong commitment to continuous improvement and development
- Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, process controls and PLC systems
- Knowledge of automated equipment and its components
- Proficient use of mechanical and electrical diagnostic tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, voltmeter)
- Understanding of electrical control and power components and circuits in automated equipment
- Ability to operate, troubleshoot and diagnose industrial circuits used in control and distribution
- Self‑managed scheduling and execution of work unsupervised
- Reliable, motivated, dedicated team player with strong communication skills
- Analytical decision‑making based on data analysis
- Familiarity with CMMS and production workflow/control systems
- Willingness to operate during off‑shifts, weekends, extended shifts and additional hours as needed
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft tools, digital navigation, information recording)
- Positive conflict management resolution skills and accountability for personal development
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple maintenance calls
