Job summary

Millennium Physician Group in Fort Myers, FL is hiring a Phlebotomy Technician to draw blood and prepare samples for testing. You will verify patient records, enter data, label specimens correctly, and ensure specimen integrity during processing.

The role requires phlebotomy certification or MA cert and at least 1 year of lab experience. Work is performed in a busy clinic with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and patient service.

Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy certification or MA certification required.
  • 1+ years of laboratory experience preferred.
  • Understanding labeling/ID protocols and common lab tests.
  • OSHA safety regulations knowledge for medical offices.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs painless venipuncture and capillary puncture for the clinic.
  • Identifies patient following protocol.
  • Prepares samples for processing with correct label and barcode.
  • Reconciles outstanding sample reports at day’s end.
  • Observes safety procedures and maintains sample integrity.

Job Description SummaryHours & Location:Full Time: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm13691 Metro Pkwy, Fort Myers, FLPerforms routine and moderately complex blood and specimen collection activities across assigned patient settings. Verifies patient identity, confirms collection requirements, handles specimen labeling and transport, and applies working knowledge to resolve routine collection issues while maintaining patient comfort and specimen integrity.Technician, Laboratory Phlebotomy carries out defined clinical support processes under moderate supervision, applying working knowledge to tasks that occasionally require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Decisions are procedure-driven and impact day-to-day patient interactions and team workflow. Technician, Laboratory Phlebotomy handles routine and moderately non-routine situations, communicating clearly with patients, members, and clinical staff.How will you make an impact & RequirementsThe Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing and collecting blood from patients and preparing the samples for testing. Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Processes specimens and demonstrates proper handling of samples. Instructs patients on Coumadin and performs limited waived testing. Maintains sample integrity by identification and labeling (2 identifiers).
