Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Development Technician III (Contract) Advance Your Aerospace & Electronics Career

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Technician III to support the integration, testing, assembly, and validation of advanced electronic and aerospace hardware systems. This hands-on role is ideal for experienced technicians who thrive in laboratory, cleanroom, production, and test environments and enjoy working on complex, mission‑critical hardware. This position requires strong troubleshooting abilities, experience with aerospace assembly standards, and expertise in electronic test equipment and system-level integration.

Key Responsibilities
Integration & Testing
  • Lead box-level integration activities, PWA testing, and ESTE/GSE certification efforts.
  • Conduct environmental testing, including vibration, thermal, and thermal vacuum (TVAC) testing.
  • Perform power-on verification, operational system validation, post-delivery support, and complex rack configuration modifications.
  • Execute detailed test procedures and perform component-level troubleshooting.
  • Serve as a test conductor by utilizing software scripts to control hardware and monitor telemetry data.
  • Verify cable assemblies using Digital Multimeters (DMMs) and Cirris test equipment.
Assembly & Hardware Fabrication
  • Fabricate, assemble, modify, and rework flight and engineering development unit (EDU) hardware, including: Printed Wiring Assemblies (PWAs) Cable assemblies Chassis systems Rack assemblies Ensure compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-610/620 Space Addendums and J-STD-001 standards.
  • Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, wire lists, and engineering drawings.
  • Accurately document engineering changes and redline updates.
  • Maintain strict adherence to ESD, FOD, tool control, and safety requirements.
Project & Technical Support
  • Collect, measure, and document test data while identifying and reporting out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Manage assignments efficiently while balancing quality, cost, schedule, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Provide clear daily and weekly status updates, including accomplishments, risks, roadblocks, and schedule projections.
  • Install and troubleshoot test cable systems with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support project objectives and maintain a positive, professional work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of related technical experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for experience, with each higher-level degree equating to two years of applicable experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency with: Digital Multimeters (DMMs), Digital oscilloscopes, Function generators, Programmable power supplies.
  • Strong understanding of: Analog electronics, Digital electronics, Power electronics, FPGA-based systems.
  • Experience fabricating, assembling, and reworking cables, chassis, 19-inch racks, and test support equipment in development or production environments.
  • Experience handling flight hardware and working to aerospace manufacturing and assembly standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully in laboratories, cleanrooms, production facilities, and other technical environments.
Work Environment

Primarily on-site position requiring attendance at the designated work location five days per week. Travel between company facilities and other work locations may be required. Work may be performed in offices, laboratories, production floors, cleanrooms, outdoor locations, or remote research environments. Occasional use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when working in designated production areas. Position may require access to multiple facilities under varying environmental and weather conditions.

Compensation is competitive and based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, technical skills, education, certifications, market conditions, geographic location, and internal pay equity.
