Position Summary
Perform advanced testing, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of electronic components and complex test systems supporting the Aerospace and Defense industry. This senior-level technician role requires broad expertise across electronics, computer systems, and software applications, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues at the system level.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct system-level testing to assure product quality, following Integration Statements of Work (ISOW), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), and engineering direction.
- Inspect and perform minor repairs to correct manufacturing errors; arrange specialized or warranty repairs when required.
- Document and archive test results (hardcopy or electronic) in coordination with system engineers and ATP requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between integration and engineering by answering construction detail questions and updating documentation.
- Support system integration activities as directed by project schedules or supervisors
- Perform pre-testing of instruments prior to system installation when specified.
- Improve manufacturing accuracy and efficiency by identifying documentation errors and providing feedback to system engineers.
- Assist in generating and correcting ISOWs, cable documents, ATPs, and other system manufacturing documentation.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize product and process data to prepare technical reports.
- Maintain equipment operability by coordinating maintenance, repair, and calibration services.
- Maintain accurate product and process databases through consistent data entry.
- Train technicians on equipment use, testing methods, and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong foundation in electronic theory, engineering methods, and troubleshooting practices.
- Hands-on experience with RF devices, including advanced testing methods and equipment (e.g., PNA-X).
- Proficiency in remote instrument control protocols (USB, GPIB, RS232, SCPI commands, LAN).
- Skilled in using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, function generators, network analyzers, power meters, and spectrum analyzers.
- Knowledge of construction, maintenance, and repair methods for electronic and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with computers, peripheral devices, and related instrumentation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Visio for documentation and data management.
- Familiarity with three-phase line voltage, including safe testing and hookup procedures.
