POSITION: AM Technician III

Location: Atwater, CA

Schedule: Monday – Friday, occasional Saturdays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $32.00 per hour

Job Summary

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Technician III is responsible for maintaining company-owned equipment in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This includes diagnosing and addressing repair needs, performing engine diagnostics, and conducting repairs on electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, steering, and more. The role also involves preventive maintenance and responding to service calls.

Essential Accountabilities

• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on all company equipment, including road calls.
• Document parts, time, and descriptions of repairs at the end of each task.
• Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues from DVIRs, communicating necessary repairs.
• Utilize resources like Engine and Chassis Manufacturers' websites and proprietary software for diagnostics.
• Perform welding as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Proactively communicate issues to supervisors.
• Contribute to maximizing uptime and operational goals.
• Wash equipment when necessary.
• Attend vendor and company-sponsored training sessions.
  
  

Knowledge Of

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Advanced repair and diagnostic techniques.
• A minimum of 6 years’ experience or equivalent certifications.
• Ability to use power tools and advanced diagnostic equipment.
  
  

Skills In

• Working outdoors in all types of weather, adhering to safety practices.
• Working in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear communication (written and verbal).
• Strong interpersonal skills, including listening, follow-through, and teamwork.
• Self-motivated, safety-oriented, and deadline-driven.
  
  

Experience And Education

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 years of experience or equivalent certifications.
• Valid Class C License (Class B preferred).
• Advanced computer skills.
• Experience servicing Class 4–8 and heavy-duty equipment.
• Experience in the waste industry is preferred but not required.
  
  

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

The physical demands of this job include sitting, using hands to operate tools, and communicating effectively. Frequent walking, reaching, and the ability to lift and carry equipment are required. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
