A Technician II - Structured Cabling is generally a mid-level field technician responsible for installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting low-voltage communications infrastructure.
Install copper and fiber-optic cabling.
Pull, route, dress, label, and terminate cables.
Install cable trays, pathways, racks, patch panels, and related hardware.
Terminate and test Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A and fiber.
Use certification testers and troubleshoot cabling failures.
Read blueprints, floor plans, cable schedules, and installation drawings.
Perform cable testing, certification, and documentation.
Maintain job-site safety and follow customer/project requirements.
Coordinate work with other trades and field supervisors.
Train or assist Technician I personnel when needed.
Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and accurate work records.
