Job summary

Qualifications

  • Vocational certification preferred but not required.
  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience preferred but not required.
  • Technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • On-site maintenance: repair, part replacements, and modifications on production equipment and control systems (including PLCs).
  • Preventive maintenance implementation on-site according to schedule; address hazards identified.
  • On-site problem solving and coordination with production to resolve urgent breakdowns.
  • Record repair and maintenance history and analyze MES log data to identify root causes.
  • Consult with external vendors for complex malfunctions and manage on-site schedules.
  • Provide hands-on training to new and junior technicians.

Job Summary:

This position is a key on-site maintenance specialist who performs direct repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment to improve production line utilization rates. This role requires demonstrating technical leadership by diagnosing and resolving complex breakdowns that occur on-site, while also establishing preventive maintenance schedules and mentoring junior technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • On-site Maintenance: Perform direct repairs, part replacements, and modifications on production equipment and control systems (including PLCs) to ensure normal operation.
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM) Implementation: Perform preventive maintenance tasks directly on-site according to an established schedule and immediately address any hazards identified during the work.
  • On-site Problem Solving and Coordination: Communicate closely with the production department to immediately resolve urgent on-site breakdowns and coordinate work schedules in real time.
  • Technical Documentation and Analysis: Accurately record repair and maintenance history (daily reports, checklists) and analyze MES log data to identify the technical causes of issues and prevent recurrence.
  • External Collaboration and Schedule Management: In the event of complex malfunctions, conduct technical consultations with external vendors and establish and manage on-site work schedules.
  • Technical Guidance and Training: Provide hands-on, field-based technical training to new and junior technicians and provide guidance on their work.
  • Safety and 5S Compliance: Wear PPE, create a safe work environment on-site, and maintain the workspace through the 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).

Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of maintenance experience in a production/factory environment (with hands-on field repair experience required).
  • High School Diploma/General Educational Development or higher degree required.
  • Exposure to dry-room environments with gowning and PPE requirement.
  • Associate degree preferred or relevant work experience.
  • Vocational certification (i.e., journeyperson) *preferred but not required.
  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience *preferred but not required.
  • Technical knowledge in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a period of up to 12 hours.
    • Safety glasses.
    • Steel-toed shoes.
  • Must be able to do the following repeatedly for a period of up to 12 hours.
    • Lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
    • Stoop, twist, bend.
    • Reach overhead.
    • Sit and/or stand.
