Job summary

Abbott in Sylmar, CA, seeks a Technician I, Service in our Cardiac Rhythm Management division. You will perform root-cause analysis, upgrades, assembly and testing of high-quality medical device hardware and systems, documenting work on Service Reports.

Responsibilities include processing RMA returns to the Service Depot, maintaining organization and inventory, and supporting quality and regulatory initiatives under FDA and QMS guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Exceptional troubleshooting ability.
• Physical ability to lift 30 pounds overhead.
• Mechanical assembly with hand tools.
• Soldering skills beneficial.
• Fiber optic splicing a plus.
• PC experience required.
• Previous experience in a medical device company preferred.

his position works out of our Sylmar, CA location in the Cardiac Rhythm Management division. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.

Technician I, Service

is responsible for performing root-cause analysis and upgrades on high quality medical device hardware and systems. This position includes detailed assembly and testing of various electronic components and finished devices.

What You’ll Work On

• Process Return Material Authorization (RMA) receiving equipment into the Service Depot.
• Perform root-cause analysis, repair, upgrades and testing of product and systems that return from the field, documenting all work on Service Reports.
• Complete all necessary service documentation required for returned product.
• Assist in maintaining organization within the Service Depot.
• Maintain inventory levels and provide inventory counts when required.
• Provide assistance in the authorizing of technical documents related to the repair, upgrade or testing of returned product.
• Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
• Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

The base pay for this position is $18.70 – $37.40 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
