Job summary

Abbott, a global healthcare leader, seeks a Service Technician for the Sylmar, CA site in CRM. You will perform root-cause analysis and upgrades on medical device hardware, with assembly and testing of electronic components and finished devices.

Responsibilities include processing RMAs into the Service Depot, documenting work on service reports, maintaining organization and inventory, and ensuring compliance with QMS/EMS and FDA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting ability.
  • Physical ability to lift 30 pounds overhead.
  • Mechanical assembly, able to work with tools.
  • Soldering skills fiber optic splicing a plus.
  • Previous experience in a medical device company preferred.
  • Occasional overtime is a requirement of this position.

  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

The Opportunity

This position works out of the Sylmar, CA location in our Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) division. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias or irregular heartbeats. This position is responsible for performing root-cause analysis and upgrades on high quality medical device hardware and systems. This position includes detailed assembly and testing of various electronic components and finished devices.

Main Responsibilities

The base pay for this position is

$22.55 – $45.15/hour
