Rise Baking Company, LLC is hiring for a sanitation position in York, PA. The role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing plant equipment and facilities to meet food safety policies and OSHA regulations.

You will operate wash areas, assist with machine disassembly for cleaning, and uphold SSOPs throughout the facility. The position requires at least 1 year in a kitchen or food plant sanitation role, with knowledge of cleaning steps, safety protocols, and chemical usage.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience cleaning in a kitchen or food plant.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning steps and food safety protocols.
• Familiar with safety policies and equipment cleaning procedures.
• Able to perform basic machine disassembly for cleaning.

Responsabilités

• Wash area duties including pan washer operation and manual utensil cleaning.
• Disassemble and set up machines for cleaning (covers, piping, electrical components).
• Complete cleaning across facility areas (grounds, rest rooms, offices, production area).
• Follow SSOPs and deepen cleaning when needed.
• Use chemicals safely and effectively for cleaning tasks.
• Report safety, food safety, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Comply with employee safety/food safety training and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

Support the company’s sanitation food safety program by focusing on proper cleaning and sanitizing of plant equipment and building in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies, FDA and OSHA regulations.

Essential Functions

• Perform basic wash area duties, including running a pan washer, cleaning utensils by hand when needed, etc.
• Perform basic machine disassembly/setup for cleaning (e.g., covers, piping, cover electrical with plastic)
• Perform basic janitorial duties required for the facility (outside grounds, rest rooms, lunch rooms, locker rooms, conference rooms, offices, training rooms, hallways, entry points, and production area)
• Complete cleaning tasks per SSOPs
• Recognize and address equipment needing deep cleaning
• Properly use chemicals to effectively and safely perform cleaning tasks
• Report employee safety, food safety, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel
• Comply with all employee safety/food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1 year minimum working in a kitchen cleaning or 1 year working in a food plant as a sanitor cleaning equipment/machines
• Basic knowledge of pre-rinse/wash/rinse/sanitize steps
• Basic knowledge of top down washing sequence for proper food safety
• Basic knowledge of sanitation chemical usage
• Basic knowledge of lockout/tagout programs
• Basic knowledge of blood borne pathogens
• Ability to learn how to clean all plant lines
• Ability to prioritize work
• Ability to problem-solve
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team to complete assigned tasks
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
