The QA Technician will assist the Quality Assurance Department and Manager in executing quality checks and inspections of product, operating procedures, and GMP’s
2nd Shift Hours = 1:30pm - 10:00pm
What You Will Do At Acme:
- Collect information and data about food safety, quality and legality.
- Communicates issues to the QA and Food Safety Manager.
- Perform and/or verify operation inspections in accordance with GMP standards.
- Perform quality checks, including, but not limited to, label inspections, lot code inspections, net weight checks, sensory checks.
- Perform traceability and mass balance according to annual schedule.
- Monitor GMPs and product, process, and packaging controls for non-compliance.
- Monitor and recommend areas for continuous improvement at various stages in the production process.
- Verify corrective and preventive actions are performed and completed.
- Mentor production associates on issues related to food safety, quality and legality.
- Perform orientation for new hires and annual refreshers for any training needed, including GMP, CCP, QA or any related training.
- Reviews equipment for proper calibration of measurement instruments as required.
- Collect product samples for testing program and sensory evaluation program.
- Coordinate the collection and submission of samples for shelf-life verification program.
- Complete electronic documentation of QA logs for trend analysis.
- Stop production line if product deviates from HACCP standards, food safety standards or quality standards and communicates issues to the QA and Food Safety Manager, R&D Supervisor and Production leadership.
- Assist Food Safety team with environmental sampling and sanitation checks.
- Assist with projects as assigned by the QA and Food Safety Manager as required.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Your Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in related sciences preferred.
- 2+ years' experience in food processing plant preferred.
- Quality/Food Safety experience in Food processing plant preferred.
- Excellent work history, showing positive attendance and tenure.
Your Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Great organizational and analytical skills.
- Computer literacy and ability to troubleshoot basic software.
- Completion of training programs as assigned and/or required including standard of work.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms or legs to perform job tasks.
- Must be able to reach above and below shoulder height to move product. This includes the ability to move throughout all areas of the facility.
- Ability to climb stairs
- The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups.
- The ability to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job duties.
- The ability to work in cold (32 to 45°F) and wet environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Health & Safety Requirements:

- Follow mandated OSHA regulations.
- Report all incidents including near misses immediately.
Compensation Range: $23.80 - $26.45/hr starting wage.
