Job summary

The City of Midwest City is seeking a Technician I/Mechanic in the Fleet Services department to repair and maintain light and heavy automotive equipment, including cars, trucks, tractors and construction equipment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, valid Oklahoma driver's license, insurability, and ASE certification within the first year (E-3: 5 categories; E-5: 7 categories). CDL is preferred; safety-sensitive position with drug/alcohol screening.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with experience in automotive maintenance and repair.
• Regular use of highly complex machines and equipment; specialized or advanced software programs.
• Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license and be insurable.
• All new employees must receive or possess ASE certification within first year; E-3 requires 5 categories, E-5 requires 7 categories.
• Commercial driver license preferred.
• Safety/security sensitive position with pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening.

The incumbent performs skilled repair and maintenance of light and heavy automotive equipment with gasoline or diesel engines, including cars, trucks, tractors and construction equipment.

Salary and Benefits

Starting Salary: $20.2362-$21.4269/hr with benefits depending on ASE certifications. Salary: $20.23 - $21.42 per hour.
