Job summary

The City of Midwest City is seeking a Technician I/Mechanic in the Fleet Services department. The incumbent will repair and maintain light and heavy automotive equipment powered by gasoline or diesel engines, including cars, trucks, tractors and construction equipment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and prior automotive experience. A valid Oklahoma driver’s license and insurability are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience in automotive maintenance required.
• Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be insurable.
• All new employees must obtain ASE certification in required categories within the first year; additional categories required for progression.
• This position is safety/security sensitive and subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled repair and maintenance of light and heavy automotive equipment including cars, trucks, tractors and construction equipment.
• Operate highly complex machines and specialized software programs as part of maintenance and diagnostics.
