Job summary

IES is hiring an entry-level Technician I for Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) installation and maintenance in commercial buildings, campuses, and facilities. You will install cabling, antennas, and hardware, perform testing, and help troubleshoot network infrastructure while following safety standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on work, adherence to project schedules, and ongoing technical training. Employment is onsite with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must meet company minimum driving standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of DAS, small cell, and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Install, terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot coaxial, fiber optic, and Category C cabling.
  • Mount and install antennas, remote units, access points, and supporting hardware.
  • Perform cable routing and pathway installation, including conduit, cable trays, J-hooks, and innerduct.
  • Read and interpret project drawings, floor plans, schematics, and installation documentation.
  • Conduct testing and certification of cabling systems using industry-standard test equipment.
  • Assist with system troubleshooting, signal verification, and performance testing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, redline drawings, test results, and material usage.

Technician I – Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) Job Summary

Technician I – Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) is an entry-level field technician responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of wireless communication infrastructure in commercial buildings, stadiums, healthcare facilities, campuses, and other venues. This role supports the deployment of DAS networks by installing structured cabling, fiber optics, antennas, and related equipment while adhering to company quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist with the installation of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), small cell, and wireless network infrastructure.
  2. Install, terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot coaxial, fiber optic, and Category C cabling.
  3. Mount and install antennas, remote units, access points, and supporting hardware.
  4. Perform cable routing and pathway installation, including conduit, cable trays, J-hooks, and innerduct.
  5. Read and interpret project drawings, floor plans, schematics, and installation documentation.
  6. Conduct testing and certification of cabling systems using industry-standard test equipment.

  9. Follow all company and customer safety requirements, including OSHA standards and site-specific policies.
  10. Support project teams in meeting installation schedules and customer delivery deadlines.
  11. Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in proper working condition.
  12. Participate in ongoing technical and safety training programs.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by project leadership.

Salary: Minimum USD $28.50/hour. Maximum USD $29.00/hour.
