Job summary

Job description

DAS Technician – Bayonet Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning

The DAS Technician will be responsible for a variety of field service functions. The DAS Technician II will install antennas, repeaters, head-end equipment, and other DAS devices as well as complete sweep, PIM, and fiber testing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Installing DAS wireless equipment using external/internal antennas, coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, CAT 5 cable, etc. to NEC standard at customer job sites.
  • Commission and optimize a variety of DAS and signal booster equipment for public safety installations.
  • Conduct pre‑install and post‑install RF signal readings per fire code requirements.
  • Perform cable sweep testing (VSWR, RL, DTF, PIM) using test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot existing systems to identify failures or configuration issues and correct as possible.
  • Terminate wall and ceiling mounted components.
  • Complete sweep, PIM, and fiber testing.
  • Complete job‑related documentation and record keeping.
  • Keep customer and company informed of progress of installation.
  • Communicate and coordinate with customer and company on safety, local code, and company installation requirements.
  • Mentor and lead less experienced technicians.
  • Maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and stay informed on safety protocols.
Qualifications
  • Must be self‑motivated, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvements.

  • Proven problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reports, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to work at heights, off a ladder, and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
  • Good color vision and ability to read small print, and hear audible signals such as dial tones.
  • Willingness to travel 50–75% within and outside the branch territory as needed.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Must possess FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (G.R.O.L.) or obtain one within two weeks of hire.
  • 5 years of experience in integrating public safety and cellular carrier technologies into in‑building coverage systems.
  • Proficient with commissioning of multiple manufacturers: ADRF Technologies, Comba Telecom, CommScope, SOLiD Tech, Corning.
  • Obtained or willing to obtain certifications from said manufacturers.
  • Proficiency with spectrum analyzers (Keysight/Agilent, Anritsu, PCTel).
  • Experience with PIM testing preferred.
  • Experience with common DAS equipment (fiber DAS, repeaters, coaxial cable, CAT 5 cable, antennas, splitters, fiber cable, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally at all job sites.
  • Analytical thinking and problem‑solving ability.
  • Strong customer service, communication, teamwork skills.
  • Ability to complete installations independently as projects require.

USD $25.00 per hour – USD $32.00 per hour.
